縫製・仕上げの作業風景

今回は、作務衣を製作している縫製現場の様子をご紹介します。

一見するとシンプルに見える作務衣ですが、着心地や動きやすさ、美しい仕上がりを実現するためには、型紙や裁断、縫製など、それぞれの工程で細かな調整が必要です。

一つひとつ、丁寧に縫い上げる

縫製する生地の端を、専用のミシンで丁寧に整えていきます。

生地の特徴を確認しながら、縫い目の幅や糸の調子を細かく調整。ほつれを防ぎ、長くご使用いただけるよう、見えにくい部分まで丁寧に仕立てています。

縫製後は、余分な糸を一つひとつ手作業で取り除きます。

機械による正確な縫製と、人の目と手による細かな確認。その両方を組み合わせながら、次の工程へと進めていきます。

縫い上がったパーツは、形や縫製部分を確認しながら仕上げていきます。

完成後の見た目だけでなく、実際に着用したときの動きやすさや着心地も考え、細部まで確認することを大切にしています。

The Making of a SAMUE
A Glimpse into the Sewing and Finishing Process

In this post, we’ll take a look at the sewing workshop where our SAMUE are made.

At first glance, a SAMUE may seem simple, but to ensure comfort, ease of movement, and a beautiful finish, meticulous adjustments are required at every stage—from pattern-making and cutting to sewing.

At Appleuz, which supports the creation of “Wa to Sora” products, we handle the entire process in-house—from product planning and pattern making to fabric selection, cutting, sewing, and finishing.

Carefully Sewing Each Piece by Hand

We carefully neaten the edges of the fabric to be sewn using a specialized sewing machine.

While carefully assessing the fabric’s characteristics, we make precise adjustments to the seam width and thread tension. To prevent fraying and ensure long-lasting use, we meticulously craft even the hidden details.

After sewing, we remove excess thread by hand, one by one.

Precise machine sewing combined with meticulous inspection by the human eye and hand—we proceed to the next stage by integrating both approaches.

We finish the sewn pieces while carefully checking their shape and stitching.

We place great importance on inspecting every detail, considering not only the finished appearance but also ease of movement and comfort when actually worn.

Starting with natural materials such as cotton and linen, we can propose a variety of fabrics tailored to the season, usage environment, ease of care, and your desired price range.
